I took my 2000 Honda Accord in for transmission repair in August of 2011 after being quoted a ridiculously outrageous price for a new transmission from the Honda dealership. I also needed to have some brake work done and an engine mount replaced. I received estimates from a few other places before taking my car to Aamco. I found both Jeff & Jim to be incredibly courteous and professional. The place is very clean and the waiting area comfortable. They reassured me that they could handle the repair and gave me an estimate that I considered very reasonable. They were able to complete all of the work that I needed for way under the price that Honda had quoted me for the transmission repair alone. The work was completed sooner than anticipated and my car has been running great ever since! I also liked that they offer extended warranties on the work they do if you want additional peace of mind for a costly repair. I will not hesitate to take my car there from now on for all regular service and other repairs.
It is indeed rare to find a business that is honest and has integrity in now a days and when you find somebody or some place of business, not only does it surprise you but also makes you feel good that there still are people who believe in doing business with pride and honesty. In my case, I was told by a local transmission shop and a dealer that my transmission was shot and needed to be rebuilt or would have to be replaced with a new one. Truly and as a last resort I called AAMCO and talked to the owner himself and he offered to look at the car for free. After checking the transmission he called and said that the transmission itself was not shot that it was ok but it just needed a change in electrical surges and tweak to computer. The total cost of $450.00 vs over $2000 from the other transmission shop and my estimate from the dealer I took it to was over $4000. I could not afford that. I was so thrilled and thanked god that I made the call to this AAMCO. Otherwise I don't know what I would have done. So thankful to be pleasantly surprised by the level of service from this AAMCO and I will take my vehicle back for any other services that I may require in the future.
Brought my car here upon recommendation of my best friend. I know nothing about car repair but she said they were honest and did great work and would help me finance if I needed to. They gave me a great price and finished the job in less time than I was expecting. I love driving my Spider and now it is a pleasure to cruise around Sarasota.
I took my car here, the AAMCO location on Clark road in south Sarasota, for a full rear brake job. I knew I needed new rotors and pads. The guys working there looked over my car and did the work as expected, at a reasonable price, without trying to upsell me on any other work.
Great place for service and repairs. Chad the owner and the service crew are super nice and knowledgeable. I took my 2009 Corvette in for inspection and they knew exactly what to look for. Made my whole day. If you want an oil change, tires, tune up they are the place to go. 5 star rating!!!!
My wife and I have had great experiences with AAMCO on Clark Road in Sarasota. Car problems are always stressful, but this team makes the process much easier. They are honest, fast, and thorough. Every time I’ve brought a car in, they clearly explained what was going on and what needed to be done. The work is completed quickly and with great attention to detail. My father is actually a mechanic out of state, and every estimate or repair rundown I’ve sent him has gotten a “thumbs up” from him. Even though AAMCO is known for transmissions, this location handles a variety of repairs efficiently and WITHOUT unnecessary upselling. They’re straightforward, friendly, and easy to trust. Great shop, great people—and if you’re lucky, you’ll also meet Tater, their French Bulldog. We’ll keep coming back as long as we live in the area!
Said it once, I'll say it again. One stop shop. Professional, free estimate and diagnostic. Excellent customer service, and communication . Highly recommend this shop. Great price on my oil change and preventative maintenance . No need to shop around anymore. I found my local mechanics shop.

Great service! They fixed our transmission last year and did a great job. Had the thermostat go out and they got us in quickly and got it done right. They also found a 2nd code related to the thermostat and got that fixed as well. Going to have them service my Toyota FJ next week. Good people.
