I took my 2000 Honda Accord in for transmission repair in August of 2011 after being quoted a ridiculously outrageous price for a new transmission from the Honda dealership. I also needed to have some brake work done and an engine mount replaced. I received estimates from a few other places before taking my car to Aamco. I found both Jeff & Jim to be incredibly courteous and professional. The place is very clean and the waiting area comfortable. They reassured me that they could handle the repair and gave me an estimate that I considered very reasonable. They were able to complete all of the work that I needed for way under the price that Honda had quoted me for the transmission repair alone. The work was completed sooner than anticipated and my car has been running great ever since! I also liked that they offer extended warranties on the work they do if you want additional peace of mind for a costly repair. I will not hesitate to take my car there from now on for all regular service and other repairs.
It is indeed rare to find a business that is honest and has integrity in now a days and when you find somebody or some place of business, not only does it surprise you but also makes you feel good that there still are people who believe in doing business with pride and honesty. In my case, I was told by a local transmission shop and a dealer that my transmission was shot and needed to be rebuilt or would have to be replaced with a new one. Truly and as a last resort I called AAMCO and talked to the owner himself and he offered to look at the car for free. After checking the transmission he called and said that the transmission itself was not shot that it was ok but it just needed a change in electrical surges and tweak to computer. The total cost of $450.00 vs over $2000 from the other transmission shop and my estimate from the dealer I took it to was over $4000. I could not afford that. I was so thrilled and thanked god that I made the call to this AAMCO. Otherwise I don't know what I would have done. So thankful to be pleasantly surprised by the level of service from this AAMCO and I will take my vehicle back for any other services that I may require in the future.
Brought my car here upon recommendation of my best friend. I know nothing about car repair but she said they were honest and did great work and would help me finance if I needed to. They gave me a great price and finished the job in less time than I was expecting. I love driving my Spider and now it is a pleasure to cruise around Sarasota.
I took my car here, the AAMCO location on Clark road in south Sarasota, for a full rear brake job. I knew I needed new rotors and pads. The guys working there looked over my car and did the work as expected, at a reasonable price, without trying to upsell me on any other work.
Easy making appointment, paperwork was clearly explained and the work that expected was done. I will come back here again.
Five stars, without hesitation. These people don’t just fix cars — they restore faith. The diagnosis was quick, the repair thorough, and the manner? Disarmingly human. They spoke as much about what could wait as what couldn’t, which tells you everything. Empathy under fluorescent light is rare, but somehow they’ve bottled it here. Highly recommend entrusting your machine — and your morning — to them.
Chad, Tyler, and Justin did a great job ... I had been looking for somewhere to fix the flap underneath the car that was dragging. And everywhere wanted to charge an arm and a leg and I pulled right up and they said no problem we'll get that done for you right now and I was in and out. Great service!! And very professional and polite.
There are absolutely no words to express the gratitude for the owners, mechanic and office employees at this location! This includes little Mr. Tater for sure (the dog). My family and I went on vacation, first day BAM car breaks down, on a holiday weekend, 😳😩…. They were so nice made me and my family feel at home, we laughed so much, they worked so well with us. Helped us find places to get rentals, allowed us to hang out in lobby till we figured out what to do and where to go while the kids played with the dog all while the owners continued to check on us offering drinks and snacks. They gave me a time and date of when car would be fixed and they stood by their word. If ever I visit Sarasota again it would only be to visit then and tater
